Matt King - Percussion and Vocals

Matt is an extremely talented multi-instrumentalist whose principle role in the band is percussionist. His first instrument is guitar, although he also plays bass and piano.

Matt is both the latest addition to Mundo Pequeno and also a founder member. He was part of Mundo's original lineup as bass player and rejoined the band as keyboard dep for Tommy before moving to percussion. Matt may well feature on other instruments as time unfolds.

As a percussionist Matt's primary influences come from the Weather Report area of things. Manolo Badrena, Alex Acuna, Airto Moreira, Don Alias and the like are the players who inform Matt's styles best.

His musical career has seen him work with R & B/Hip-Hop band Bluefoot Project as well as numerous artists as a session musician. For many years after gaining his degree in jazz from Leeds College of Music, Matt was a key face on the Leeds live jazz scene. His return to home has seen him reunite with some of his best friends in Mundo Pequeno.
